Two of the largest fixed-line service providers in the US, Verizon and AT & T, are losing ground to VoIP providers as a recent USA Telecoms, Wireless and broadband report. The two traditional telephone companies have reported a 10% drop in the number of new fixed telephony accounts in 2007.

The ratio of sites for the growth of VoIP, such as the services offered by VoIP. com and Vonage, as a major reason for the decline in traditional phone service lines.
