Yesterday, the Attorney General of Arizona has announced an agreement with Central Coast Nutraceuticals, a company based in Arizona that markets an acai drink. The company agreed to pay a record $ 1.375 million to settle a lawsuit over their deceptive practices. $ 350,000 will be distributed among the consumers who have been defrauded or misled by Central Coast Nutraceuticals. The Better Business Bureau has received more than 2,200 complaints about the company in a year. Many of these complaints came from customers who have tried to take advantage of a "trial offer without risk" and were charged for other goods and services they request. Their calls and emails were ignored when they tried to contact Central Coast Nutraceuticals about these accusations.
