Over 120 million Americans, or one in three had personal information exposed in 2007 that left them vulnerable to identity thieves according to a report by the identity theft Resource Center.
Helen Lord, head of fraud and compliance at Experian, said :.
"Identity fraud the growth rate continues to be scary"
Lord also mentioned that Experian was contacted by 2,570 victims of theft identity in the first half of 2007.
