A team of researchers from the University of Washington and the University of California released a new service monitoring free laptop. The software, called Adeona, is downloaded to a laptop and immediately begins sending signals containing the location of the computer on the Internet.
If a notebook with Adeona installed ever be lost or stolen while the owner can simply download a second program on another computer connected to the Internet. After entering a user name and password to identify their account, the user can collect information on the location of their laptop. A Mac version of Adeona software can even take a picture of one who uses the computer once it is lost or stolen. Adeona is a free download on the researcher's website.
