Alert data Breach: names, addresses and Social Security numbers of Florida University current students and alumni compromise -

University of Florida officials are the process of notifying more than 11,300 current and former students of a violation of privacy in which the names, addresses and social security numbers of students who attended CLAS between 2003 and 2005 have been temporarily posted. Former employees of the school students UNOGBIS and institutional services, or OASIS, has created online records of students participating in the program. Employees posted the information online so they can work with it from a distance, but do not install security measures to prevent others from accessing as well. The information has been removed and is more accessible. The university authorities have sent notification letters to students whose information is believed to have potentially been compromised, but were unable to find contact information for about 570 people.
