A major security flaw in the Oklahoma Department of Corrections website would exposed the personal information of tens of thousands of Oklahoma residents for a period of at least three years.
Because the public Web site lacked basic security protocols anyone with basic programming knowledge, an Internet connection and a Web browser can easily access detailed information in the database DOC Oklahoma. It is also possible that the information could be changed in the database without knowledge departments.
A recent investigator was able to extract more than ten thousand records, including social security numbers, from the Web site.
The security issue seems to be fixed, while the Oklahoma Department of Corrections has made no official announcement about the data breach itself.
