Yesterday, JD Power and Associates released their survey of 2008 American Express credit card satisfaction tops the list for the second consecutive year. Discover Card came in second place. Cardholders appointed AmEx, Chase and Discover cards as their preferred rewards. AmEx, Discover and US Bank were considered the best in terms of fees and rates. AmEx, Discover and Chase had the best call centers, and customers have reported the least problems with Target Visa, Discover and WaMu. Customers found National City, WaMu, Chase and Target Visa to be mostly accepted.

JD Power and Associates also found that 72% of holders to participate in some type of reward program and stays at the hotel was the most satisfying type of reward, followed by rewards species. In addition, the survey showed that a quarter of cardholders do not know what, if any, other benefits are offered with their credit card and the third has not used any of these additional benefits in the past year. Users are less satisfied with their overall credit cards cardholders who enjoy these additional benefits.
