An employee Binghamton (NY) University mistakenly sent an attached file, including names, social security numbers and average quality score of more than 300 students to another group of students over email.
The attachment containing the personal information of junior and senior accounting students was sent to 288 students at the University School of the University management. agent said that there is no indication that the information the student has been misused in any way as a result of the violation.
This is the third violation of the data we reported in 2008 involving a higher education institution. We previously posted data breach notifications to impacted students Wellesley College and Harvard University.
