release pending Apple's third generation of iPhone software later this summer will include a special feature that allows users to remotely locate their lost iPhone or stolen from the web.
The only catch is that this new feature will be available only for MobileMe subscribers of Apple costs $ 99 per year after a free 60-day trial. While it would be better if this service was free for all iPhone users, connecting an iPhone to a specific MobileMe account acts as an extra level of security checking, because it ensures that a third party could not have access to the location of an iPhone unless they have access to MobileMe account linked to this phone.
