Apple is preparing to announce a new online movie rental service later that month one that will allow consumers to download movies from iTunes and view them on their PCs and apple devices such as iPhone, iPod and apple TV.
The two new releases and older titles will cost $ 3.99 to rent and are available for a period of 24 hours. Warner Bros and Fox will provide movie titles and several other studios are rumored to be involved, but has not been publicly confirmed by Apple. The total number of movie titles that will be available at launch is unknown at present.
Although this new service is a major step forward in the rental space online movie, it seems highly restrictive and probably will not provide significant convenience or value on rental services DVDs as Blockbuster or Netflix.
