Experian National Score Index ranks average credit score of residents in each US state. The latest index shows good news for Minnesota and bad news for Texas.
Texans had a low average national score of 666 while Minnesotans led the country with an average score of 721. Credit scores can range from a minimum of 330 to a maximum of 850. In general , any score above 700 is considered highly on by lenders.
In other trends, the northern states of the Atlantic coast and Midwest had an average score in the states and low 700 in the south and the Pacific Coast had average scores in the 600 upper. New England was the overall best region in the US with an average credit score of 711.
