If you currently use Firefox, your passwords and user names can be easily visible to anyone with access to your computer. In Firefox, select Tools> Options> Security> Passwords saved> Show password to view all your passwords with user names and web addresses sides. Firefox stores your passwords in the default setting. To protect your passwords from prying eyes, click Remove All in the Show Passwords window, and then return to the Security tab and de-select "Remember passwords for sites."

If you wish to store your passwords, you can create a master password from the Security tab. You need to enter your master password once per session, and it will protect your saved passwords.
