Several online sources are reporting the imminent release of a new file storage service Google online . The service, called "G Drive" after the common system of naming other Google products such as Gmail and Docs G, will undoubtedly allow users to store large amounts of data online for free.
So how Google Drive G stacked against services like backup services of the other rated Carbonite or Mozy online? Obviously, we will not know until the product materializes. However, our impression is that this service will be more suitable for remote storage for files you might need to access from the location or more computers rather than for scheduled backups of all your important files.
Google has not confirmed a date in the exit waiting for the G Player (or even the existence of the G Drive) at this stage. However, we will continue to follow the news and related developments in an effort to keep our readers informed of important changes in the online backup space.
In the meantime, you can read our reviews and compare online backup services to NextAdvisor.com.
