Q: If my computer dies, or if I choose to buy a new computer for any reason while I have a current subscription Carbonite, would still continue my current service on the newly replaced computer, or do I re-subscribe all over again? I fear that if I buy a plane (cheaper) that I might have to replace my PC in this period of 3 years time.
A: You will not need to purchase a new subscription Carbonite if you start using a new computer. You can easily transfer your existing Carbonite subscription to the new computer through the Carbonite website. Simply login to your account and click on the "My protected computers." From there you can transfer your Carbonite subscription and you also have the option to restore your backed up files to the new machine.
