It seems logical to assume that over time, the popularity of DVD would fade in favor of streaming video. But for now, the DVD stand strong. A new survey found that most consumers prefer to rent DVDs that Internet stream movies. Only 6% of respondents consider that the broadcast important feature continuously. Researchers continue to believe that "a large percentage of the DVD rental market is moving to digital in the long term," but the survey indicates that the physical locations will maintain popularity for longer than previously anticipated. The survey also found that 20% of those without a Netflix subscription plan to get one before the end of the year.
